Dr. Sheridan Gibler was born in Texas and attended the University of Texas for undergraduate work, continued to the University of Texas Southwestern Med. School and then on to UNC Chapel Hill and UA Birmingham for internal medicine and a Cardiology Fellowship. Shortly after his studies he joined a group practice in FT. Worth Texas, specializing in Cardiology and retired from practice in 2009.
Dr. Gibler lives with his wife on Seabrook Island in a home they purchased years ago as a vacation spot and decided the Charleston area would be a wonderful place for retirement. He and his wife have four grown children who live in Texas and California.
Karen, Dr. Giblers wife, is an RN and they both volunteer weekly at the Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic on Maybank Highway on John's Island. The clinic serves, free of charge, patients with no health insurance and who live 200% below the poverty line. Another part time line of work for Dr. Gibler is reviewing positive drug screenings as a certified Medical Review Officer for those employed in Safety Sensitive positions.
As for personal enjoyment the Dr. and his wife enjoy exercise, long beach walks with their dog and golfing on Kiawah Island.
Dr. Brian Bord is a cum laude graduate of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC where he received his chiropractic degree in the fall of 1999. Prior to this, he attended the State University of New York at Geneseo from 1989 to 1993, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in the field of Physics upon graduation. He worked as a Clinical Monitor Technician at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY for two years following his undergraduate education, during which time he was involved with the direct care of acute and chronic patients in an ICU setting. This served to kindle his passion for the healthcare field, and prompted him to return to school.
Dr. Bord has been in practice since March of 2000, having spent his first 5+ years caring for clients of all ages in Akron, OH. During that time he received specialized training in extremity adjusting, as well as case management techniques for personal injury and worker’s compensation clients. He moved to the Charleston area in July of 2005, and currently resides in Summerville. He is a proud father, a voracious reader, an unabashed technophile, pretends to golf on occasion, and generally enjoys life.
